Hey guys
does anyone know where i can find the FastMac colored mini cases? My mac mini case seems to be broken since i cant close the top case completely so i'm looking to get one of the fastmac cases but i can't seem to find them on the fastmac site? I can see the picture of it on top of the page sometimes but it seems like the link is broken.
http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/FastMacs_Custom_Color_Mac_mini_Cases/
If they dont sell them anymore does anyone know where i can buy a similar case?
Thanks

Personally I wouldn't use Crucial unless it was free.
Support was great, however returning anything more than once is ridiculous.

You can test the hard drive by removing it and placing it into an external enclosure. Or do you have a access to another MacBook to put the hard drive in?

1. No
2. Of course
3. You may have to re-enter the serial but it should work just fine.

as far as i know it is on the connector, it built around the connector. Third party chargers doesn't have it. I also happen to have both the original and the 3rd party charger.

Yes, another vote for Wordpress. You can have many add-ons/plug-ins to make your site more attractive. Also, its free!

Ok so I have a 2009 uMB which has the OS Installer Disk and Applications Disk, then I have a 2009 Mini which has both OS Installer and Applications, however I am trying to reformat my new HDD to use in my uMB but I can not find the disk, is the disk that came with the Mini the same application installer disk until I find the other disk, I need to get iLife 2009 on the uMB and that is what is on both Application installer disks.
I am just not sure if Apple has different software by machine, or they are all the same.

The final step to the cursed iBook's cleansing has been completed...
After deleteing the iTunes folder... and iTunes- and then reinstalling it and ripping his music from his iPod, things seem to be back to normal.
That... as well as the archive and install seemed to clean up things.
I and the iBook owner thank you for your time, talent, and typing.

The new macbook pro's were just recently released, so they won't be updated now for a few months, probably april of 2012 is when you'll see another update.
Not true, Apple usually has an update in the fall months for the MBPs. As other's have stated if you need it now, buy now. There is some talk of a redesign of the macbook pros, so who know is in store. That said new versions can sometimes have some quirks that need to be worked out as well.

$300 to essentially just get to hear the keynote seems like wasted money, along with the airline ticket and hotel bill. I'm sitting in my desk chair about to watch the keynote over the net. Cost: Free.
:)
c'mon, a pissed band director? Apple ain't gonna give a rat's ass. The worst thing you'll do is never go back. They honestly just won't care. But, complain all you want if it makes you feel better. Seems like a screwy deal that they would only allow you into one session. But, maybe the brainiacs at Apple decided to specially tailor a program, albeit it limited, to educators assuming you'd not have much interest in other subjects? Sounds plausible if not highly idiotic.

Living etc (a modern homes/interiors magazine).
I don't bother with tech/gadgets stuff unless i'm looking to buy something specific, in which case i might pick up a copy of something like Home Cinema Choice. I've never looked at a Mac magazine.
I also don't bother buying any girls mags... yes i said 'girls' not 'girlie' mags... i mean women's magazines (vogue, elle, cosmo etc), NOT the kind of 'girlie' mags you guys are thinking of ;)

Your chances of recovering deleted files are slim under OSX.
http://www.prosoftengineering.com/products/data_rescue_info.php
"Q: Can Data Rescue recover a file I just deleted (I'm running Mac OS X)?
A: No, there is no tool on the market that can recover deleted files without being loaded ahead-of-time. OS X (UNIX) writes over your deleted file immediately, impeding recovery (this was different in previous operating systems that were not based on UNIX). Our other product, Data Recycler can prevent this from happening by protecting you from this type of data loss in the future."
Thanks

If you can settle on a current hardware offering, I would go ahead and switch, now is the perfect time from a software (OSX) standpoint. You aren't going to loose PPC support for a loooooooong time (people with intels are going to be the onl ones suffering for a while waiting for programmers to catch up) The OS, and the future potential for growth in Apple has never been stronger. If you can afford it, switch now...
P.S. With that monitor (which I would assume you'd want to keep), I'd suggest a powermac, or a 15 or 17 powerbook, as they have the horsepower to run it. (the mini won't support it at full resolution).

hardware manufacturers put stickers as part of their partnership agreement with Intel/AMD/Nvidia etc. originally Intel used it as a form of advertising while the hardware company got a percentage kick back. eventually other semiconductor companies followed Intel and that practice just stuck around.
Apple doesn't have stickers probably because Jobs valued design. regardless of reason, they created a different partnership agreement with Intel, AMD and Nvidia to avoid the stickers.

I have mine pre-ordered, but now after finding out they are giving away t-shirts to the first customers, I think I'll go and pick up a copy for a friend of mine and just keep the t-shirt!

Since max_altitude's Warhol (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=167926) didn't make it to the finals, it has to be Lacero's apple carving, no doubt about that... :)
I hadn't seen max_altitude's initially, thanks for the link. That is indeed a cool one, but Lacero's 3D masterpiece is the clear winner in my books. Obviously all the others are great as well, (everyone is far more talented than I, that's for sure!), but that one is simply impressive.
