Interesting.
I thought the iPad 2 was supposed to lose a bit of volume compared to the first version. My MBA 11" seems to have a bit more volume than my iPad 1.

Even if climate change is 100% conclusively proven to be human caused, I would still argue that wealth creation is the best way to combat it. Florida floods...move. Can't farm in Mexico anymore, Canada now becomes farmable.
And where should the 160 million people in Bangladesh go? Assuming that "wealth creation" focuses on just those most likely to be affected by climate changeand we'll assume that the loss of bread baskets in the US, Russia, and Europe will be counteracted by gains in Canada, etc.there's still the fundamental problem of moving millions from their current homes to new locations. Even 18 million people in Florida would represent a massive shift in people and infrastructure and that's assuming that wealth presents symmetrically.
Even with several big 'ifs' you have a major problem that won't be solved with money alone.
A link to what? A summary of Climategate? I'll let you flex your google-muscles on that one.
You mean how after the dust settled the scientists were cleared of any scientific misconduct? That the hacked emails were taken out of context by people who stood to gain political points? That even if "climate gate" was entirely true, this doesn't change the wide scientific inquiry done by hundreds of scientists over a period of thirty years.
Of course, if you really cared you would read the report (http://www.cce-review.org/pdf/FINAL%20REPORT.pdf).

Is there a simple shortcut or macro in Apple Mail to simplify the HTML tag for linking to a different web page? In other words, instead of clicking on:
http://www.macrumors.com
...I could hide it under "Click HERE" and the HERE would underline and light-up when you hovered over it? If there's not, that would be a good thing to add to Mail in the future.
(Sorry, but I'm just learning HTML...)
This feature won't appear until Mail supports composing HTML emails. It doesn't look like Mail in Tiger (http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/mail.html) will have this feature.

Why the faffing about? You can't install an App Store ipa (free or otherwise) if you don't have a patched MobileInstallation file (a-la AppSync).
The source is up on GitHub, you should be able to import it in to Xcode, compile it yourself and install it on your device.

I hate to say it, but that doesn't look too far off actually. The Pismo is highly desirable as the last PowerBook with modular expandability and an excellent keyboard. It doesn't have a full 1GB of RAM or a G4 daughtercard, but it's not the idiotic buy that everyone seems to think it is. There are a lot of Pismo die-hards out there.

SO what do you think, will the iPhone 5 be released this year?
or will it just be an upped-spec 4GS with bigger memory/enhanced specs + white version?
What are your thoughts on this?

Dang, I missed the entire 2 day rescue lifting of the miners.
If this ever gets turned into a Documentary movie the only director that I can think of to make the project would be Werner Herzog (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werner_Herzog).

I just got an N router so this little guy needs to go. I bought it in December, it's still under warranty. It's a Belkin MyEssentials Wireless G Router, has everything that a basic wireless router has, can be used as an access point as well. Works fine, just wanted to upgrade.

I was looking at the mac mini with snow leopard server. I would use it for my work, but I have a few apps on the current server that only run on windows. Is there a way that I can run those apps on the mini server? I know I have a couple of programs that use microsoft.net.

The Airport Express is a router.
Plug the Ethernet port into the single IP of choice. If the Express is is default configuration, you are all set - for 10 wireless clients.
This would probably been a better question in the Help discussion BTW.

I am getting an error when trying to empty my trash bin with an external hard drive attached and turned on. The message is, "The operation could not be completed because an unexpected error has occurred. (error code - 8003)". When I turn off the external hard drive (which happens to be my Time Machine backup drive" the trash disappears from my trash bin. That's the only way I can remove files from my internal hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All-
I just got back into distributed computing again with my new C2D iMac. I joined SETI & immediately joined the Mac Rumors team. I was suprised to find myself in 10th place now since I have only this one computer & it is now splitting the proccessor time 50% with the World Community Grid.
I searched for & could not find a MR team for WCG. I read Slookster's call for people to join the fight against AIDS & asked to have us sign in a previous thread to show our support. I figure we just need a team. I would be willing to set one up if that is allowed.
I really like the WCG concept of multiple research projects & that they use the BOINC client. Check it out:

Despite posting impressive sales of the iPad last quarter, Apple saw its tablet market share drop from 95 percent to 77 percent as shipments of Google Android-based tablets chipped away at the company's tablet dominance, a new report says.

( Bit of a dramatic title by Apple Insider, 2.1 million Android tablets were sold to bring down the iPad marketshare to 77% )
