I ran across this program the other day and have been using it. The speed of this version of firefox is much faster than safari or ff1.0. Here is a link to the site.

Never hurts to drop off your resume to one of the store's managers. Ask for the "Store Leader" though as that is the main store manager and usually has the final say about the hiring.

Well, technically they do! However shipping is a bit expensive and i'm hoping they WILL actually ship it. I requested overnight shipping on Wed, and it looks like I am going to have to wait til monday to get the part. not to happy...
Im tired of listening to a 5500 rpm fan in my ear... at least it is cool!

I'm pretty good programming in PHP and Javascript, but now I need something that allows me to create simple desktop apps. Mostly it will be for automation scripts, too much for Apple Script, but not complex enough to jump into Cocoa and Objective-C. Examples: Manipulating text files (sorting, dupe line checking, adding/cutting parts, splitting/combining files etc.), uploading a file to several different FTP servers, sending POST requests to a server.
I often hear Pearl and Python mentioned and I believe they are pre-installed on the Mac, but I don't know much about them. What's the main difference? Which one (or something else?) would be best suited for these tasks? Which one is easier to learn?
Bonus: What's a good site to learn for someone who has general programming knowledge, but is a total noob with those languages?

In OS X you can literally control just about any aspect of the the operating system via terminal. I would argue that an expert *nix user has more "unrestricted control" over OS X than an expert windows user can have under XP.
I am sure many OSX Server admins will disagree with you on this one.

24" iMac and 13" MBA. I only need documents to be synced so that works easily with DropBox (I would do that even if I had only one computer). Of course, if you work with video or other big files, then DropBox is a no-go and file syncing in general may be a pain in your ass.
I really like having two computers. Sure it has its pros and cons but for me, the pros outweigh the cons. If I had only one computer, it would most likely be 15" MBP. By the time I bought my iMac, it wasn't as powerful as the iMac and it is nowhere near as portable as MBA.

Hmm, I have noticed that printers are really quite musical...The music is often frustrating because the more of it there is, the longer you have to wait.
But this IS an interesting concept that I'd be willing to check out...For free.

They do look bad, don't they? But is that because we're trained to perceive them that way?

okay, so i get an error from folding on my mac pro. looking at the log file, it gets done folding, or at 99%, and then it gets an error, and quits that work unit and downloads another unit, and starts with that one.
anyone ever run into this before?
also, i have 2 different Leopard installations on 2 different hard drives in the mac. would this possibly mess something up?

Apologies, the site is my own and is written in ASP. so no blogging etc, essentially something that will allow me to edit HTML page but with the ability to FTP download and reupload
If it's written in ASP then that means it's dynamic. Not going to be a whole lot you can do without using visual studio or something like frontpage.
I don't know of any WYSIWYG editors for the Mac that are familiar with ASP syntax.

Ya I was kidding about the instructions... I made sure that I calibrated the battery. Ya so far no latch troubles, so I am pretty happy. No dead pixels either.

Not sure what you are looking at, since 3 drives is sort of an odd combination. I have a 2009/2010 Mac Pro Nehalem, running the apple sas card for the 4 internal bays (yes I know they make adapters to use 3rd party cards), and the performance is fair, not great but fair. About 300Mb/s read/write with 4 WD Black edition drives (1tb each). Externally, running an Areca 1680x card, with a 8 drive ProAvio chassis, 8 SAS Seagate 15k7 drives (450GB) which gives close to 900MB/s. I have tried multiple cards over the years, nano and I have exchanged lots of posts/messages. Email/PM me with specific questions and I will try and help you. Beware of most of these 3rd party slot adapters/etc. they are more hassle than they are worth.
