Disney's CG-animated fairytale Tangled holds on to the box office crown here in the UK, enjoying a strong £4.5m weekend that sees it cross the £10m mark after two weeks on release. Meanwhile Tom Hooper's Best Picture nominee The King's Speech continues to rake in the cash with a fifth-weekend haul of £2.7m, which also comes off the back of excellent weekday returns. The historical drama has now pulled in over £30m to date and with possible awards success still to come it looks like The King's Speech will make a fantastic return on its £7m budget.
Turning to the newcomers, David O. Russell's The Fighter could be a contender come Oscar time but it came up short for the British championship, taking third place with a decent £2.1m and finding itself sandwiched between rivals The King's Speech and Black Swan (fourth with £1.7m). Meanwhile Sanctum took £859k in fifth (which is a good deal more than it would have if it hadn't been promoted as a James Cameron movie), with rom-com A Little Bit of Heaven and Brit drama Brighton Rock debuting in seventh and ninth respectively.
Elsewhere Jason Statham actioner The Mechanic falls two to sixth, Jack Black family adventure Gulliver's Travels holds firm in eighth and The Green Hornet tumbles to the foot of the chart after falling four spots from last weekend.
