Producer Chris Young (Gregory’s Two Girls, The Final Curtain) and director Ben Palmer (Bo’ Selecta!, Keith Lemon’s Very Brilliant World Tour) have today announced that principal photography on The Inbetweeners Movie will start on 6th February and run for six weeks of location shooting in the UK and Europe.
Based on the award winning TV show, The Inbetweeners Movie shows what happens when four lads on go on holiday to Malia with no parents, no teachers, no money and little chance with the ladies. The film stars Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas, who will be joined by show regulars including Emily Head, Belinda Stewart-Wilson and Greg Davies along with newcomers Lydia Rose Bewley, Laura Haddock, Jessica Knappett and Tamla Kari. It is written by the show’s creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris (Flight of the Conchords) and is financed by Channel 4.
Speaking on the announcement, writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris said: "We hope the fans will appreciate the film which, we think, completes the story of Will, Simon, Neil and Jay.” Producer Christopher Young adds: "I very much hope that the film will introduce The Inbetweeners to a whole new audience in the UK and around the world."
The film, which will be the only outing for The Inbetweeners for the foreseeable future, is set to hit UK cinemas on August 19th 2011.
