The pause between tracks is a result of MP3's file structure, and it is impossible to have gapless playback with MP3's.
I completely disagree with this. As a programmer, I don't see why you can't open the next mp3 file ahead of time so that it's ready to go when the current one ends. Then you'd have a seamless transition. In fact I know that one mp3 player I've used in the past did pull this off somehow (just can't remember which one...grr...).
Personally, I use linux (though I'm scrimping for my first Mac) but many of the mp3 players on linux have this same trouble. I like digweed, and his work is one continuous blend of music best heard with absolutely no gaps between the tracks. Unfortunately I don't have a music player on linux that does this properly.
I was really hoping that iTunes had been more carefully considered than this. After all, Apple is supposed to be the pinnacle of attention to detail, isn't it?
This is such a simple trick, and I'm sure there are other ways to get mp3 files to play back to back. What I can't believe is that the authors of iTunes, Juk (linux), Rhythmbox (linux) and others haven't figured it out yet. They must not listen to trance.
In linux land we file bug reports that the software author can read. I wonder if apple has some sort of customer feedback like this that you can use to communicate this problem back to the authors of iTunes?

I would like to at least see the option of playing movies on it (think video podcast)
But the real deal breaker for me was the lack of a physical pause button. I don't want to have to grab the nano, turn it on, aim for the pause button, before I can hear the outside world.

Apple.com seems to be saying I can watch the Keynote on the site. However, will this be during the keynote, or after it is over? Is there any place I can see it live? Thanks!:apple::apple::apple:

I can't figure this out. Hopefully you guys will be as you've been quite a help in the past.
I upgraded to Firefox 4 and ever since then I can't Maximize videos on playing in MegaVideo or DailyMotion. The video plays fine in normal mode, but if I go to full screen I can hear the audio, but no video.
Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this? YouTube plays fine in both normal and full screen mode, so does Netflix.
Thank you in advance.

Want to buy a 16gb iPhone. I have all of the accessories from my old 8gb one such as the headphones and dock and whatnot so all I need is the phone, and the box ideally.
$300, PM me if you're interested.
If you feel the urge to post to tell me I'm not going to get one for this much then resist said urge. Doesn't hurt to try and if I don't I'll just get one for $350 when they show up back on AT&T's site.

This probably isn't possible, but part of my application uses a website that requires a plugin. My question is, is it possible to add a plugin that works with Safari to my Cocoa application so that my web view can use that plugin.
This will be in the App Store so no Private API use please.

One really huge difference between Apple suing someone over a patent, versus Microsoft, Nokia, Kodak or others doing so, is that at least the latter seem willing to license their patents.
Has Apple ever licensed their technology to others? (Excepting the clones way back when.)
From the top of my head, firewire, 1394 was primarily developed by Apple, but it's owned and licensed by a couple of companies. But yes, you're right, Apple doesn't share much, they tend to buy out the company with the technology and keep it to themselves.

Firefox doesn't obey the system-wide settings. Safari should.
There used to be setting in about:config in Firefox, but it seems to be un-implemented and no longer there in Firefox 3.6.xx

I've been making a slideshow in imovie `11 but i seem to be having problems. Some of the pictures have the ken burns effect to zoom in, zoom out or pan over the pic. When i watch it back the pictures seem to be jittery almost like i can see each frame. I was looking for a more smooth quality. Is there a way to achieve this?

I would check the permissions on /Applications. It's possible that something set its permissions to be world writable. Probably running a Repair Permissions from Disk Utility would take care of that possibility.

I hate to say it, but that doesn't look too far off actually. The Pismo is highly desirable as the last PowerBook with modular expandability and an excellent keyboard. It doesn't have a full 1GB of RAM or a G4 daughtercard, but it's not the idiotic buy that everyone seems to think it is. There are a lot of Pismo die-hards out there.

I'm satisfied with the iPhone 4 right now. Only feature I want is 64gb. But with the rumoured iCloud and mobileme update, I doubt there will be a 64 iphone 5. It would affect sales of ipod touch and ipad, unless they are bumped to 128 gb which isnt likely. Which is why I picked up a white iphone 4 32gb the moment it came out, and loving it ever since. I would kill for a white iphone 5 (retain design of 4) 64gb though.

there have been a couple of other threads regarding the issue of the backlights going out on Apple's LCD monitors.
The top half of my screen has become dim.
however, if i turn my computer on and the apple OS load screen is running.. right when that screen turns on my LCD monitor's top half goes brighter than what it sits at once the computer is booted up.
this is about a half second of extra brightness. I see this when I wake the computer from sleep sometimes.
whats the deal, any clues?

Also waiting... :) My current iPod 5G Video just stopped playing sound out of both channels, what a coincidence.. Still ordered a new jack stick though, 3 including shipping from Hong Kong, that's manageable.. :D
But a new iPod for waiting 3 weeks, oh yeah.. I'll also have time to read about the new models in the mean time.

I thought I was missing a UI somewhere. So I'll have to create this by view.
