Poor Hines Ward, why do bad things happen to good people? Wait, in this case, why do smart people do such silly things sometimes.

Dancing With The Stars contestant, Hines Ward was
handcuffed last night after L.A. police officers pulled he and a female companion over for driving a stolen car. The car, a Honda Civic, was reported stolen at some point, by the female driver of the vehicle, but she never recanted the report once the car was back in her possession.
So, when the LAPD ran a routine license plate check on the Civic, and found that it was reported stolen, they pulled the car over, handcuffed the occupants, and began the process of sorting out this weird mess.
Luckily, nothing came of it, as the story of the young woman checked out just as she stated it (apparently she thought her car was stolen after she used the valet service somewhere in L.A.) and the affable Ward, as only he can, laughed it off as no big deal.
The real question is, what on earth was Ward doing riding around in a Honda Civic at 2 AM?
I'm sure it was nothing, but the story is definitely an odd one.
