BAFTA announce the nominees for the British Academy Film Awards

BAFTA have today announced the nominees for the 64th British Academy Film Awards, with Tom Hooper's acclaimed period drama The King's Speech leading the way with an impressive fourteen nominations overall including the coveted Best Picture award. Also competing for the top prize is Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller Black Swan (which has garnered twelve nominations in total), along with Inception (dir. Christopher Nolan), The Social Network (dir. David Fincher) and True Grit (dir. Joel Coen and Ethan Coen). Elsewhere Colin Firth will be looking to repeat his Golden Globes success in the Best Actor category, while the recently departed Pete Postlethwaite also features in the Supporting Actor field for his role in Ben Affleck's The Town.
