After a seven year absence acclaimed Austrailian director Peter Weir returns to the screen with The Way Back, a World War II epic based on Slavomir Rawicz’s memoir The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom. Centring on a group of prisoners who escape from a Siberian Gulag and embark on a 4000 mile journey to the sanctuary of India, The Way Back stars Jim Sturgess (Fifty Dead Men Walking), Colin Farrell (London Boulevard), Ed Harris (The Truman Show), Saoirse Ronan (Atonement), Mark Strong (Kick-Ass), Dragoş Bucur (Youth Without Youth) and Gustaf Skarsgård (Patrik Age 1.5).
