Video: Colin Firth discusses The King's Speech

Awards hopeful The King's Speech opened in the UK today and leading man Colin Firth has been discussing his experiences on the film and his approach to the role of King George VI, which could see him pick up his second Oscar nomination for Best Actor following last year's A Single Man.

The King's Speech tells the story of King George VI's ascension to the throne following the abdication of his brother Edward VIII (Guy Pearce), and explores his efforts to overcome his speech impediment with the aid of therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). The film also stars Helena Bonham Carter (Alice in Wonderland), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), Timothy Spall (Appaloosa), Jennifer Ehle (Pride and Glory) and Derek Jacobi (Gosford Park), and is directed by Tom Hooper (The Damned United).
